Primary wage sources

The state models were reviewed against primary statutes, labor-agency guidance and local administering authorities. This directory gives entry points; each state article links additional sources beside the relevant rule and calculation.

Which source controls a disputed summary?

A national table is a starting point. The applicable current statute, rule, enacted amendment or administering jurisdiction’s dated schedule may be more specific. During this review, Burien’s city schedule differed from an older state summary, and New Jersey’s newly published schedule clarified dated rates. The relevant pages explain the sources used.

Review date: October 2, 2026. A document’s original publication date may be older when its rule remains applicable. Future amounts are used only for the effective dates supported by that source and calculator.

What the downloadable directory contains

Download the state directory as JSON. It contains dated starting-rate summaries and links to the state pages. It is not a full legal wage schedule or a housing dataset. Local and occupational alternatives, exclusions and formula details remain on the linked pages.

For calculation steps and rounding, see methodology. For a particular job, confirm facts with the linked agency before relying on an estimate.
