About Minimum Wage Calculator
Who publishes this website
Minimum Wage Calculator Editorial Team publishes this independent collection of workplace wage worksheets. The team's whole remit is this site: its wage worksheets, its source directory and the corrections readers file here. No government agency, employer or payroll provider owns this editorial identity. We do not present a named attorney, accountant or labor investigator as the author, and we do not claim professional review that has not occurred. Agency citations identify the source of a wage rule rather than an endorsement of this site.
The question each tool answers
A worker may know an hourly minimum yet still need to understand a weekly paycheck. Our forms separate the full wage floor, employer cash, retained voluntary tips, required shortfall payments and overtime premiums. State and DC pages explain why a workplace category changes those amounts. California needs workdays, Massachusetts needs individual shifts and Oregon needs the employment branch. Those distinctions are part of the calculation, rather than a decorative state heading above one universal answer.
The directory contains all fifty states and the District of Columbia. It is a route to the detailed worksheet, not a legal determination that every person in a state qualifies for its headline rate. Local boundaries, employer size, industry coverage, exemptions and the work date must match the selected source. A worker whose employer promised a higher rate cannot use a statutory-floor estimate as a substitute for that agreement.
What the result leaves out
Displayed pay is gross earnings before taxes and deductions. Monthly figures are averages derived from repeated weekly scenarios; annual figures do not automatically blend midyear increases or holidays. The tools exclude bonuses, commissions, compulsory service charges, multiple regular rates and unsupported agreements. We cannot investigate an actual wage violation, classify a disputed job or calculate a household's take-home income from these inputs alone.
Evidence and feedback
Primary statutes, administrative schedules and agency notices support the dated rules. We test the browser forms that visitors receive, including numerical examples and effective-date boundaries. Indexed figures that have not been independently reconciled require the specific published amount rather than a forecast. Read the method and editorial policy, or send an anonymized defect through the corrections form. A successful test does not ensure a rule will never change, and a report receipt does not itself resolve a disputed legal interpretation.
